The Value of Clothing was a participatory fashion art project which included ten wearable, unique clothing sculptures which could be borrowed. The project opened up the design process of each piece of clothing, the handiwork behind the garment and the clothing’s value. I challenged myself to deviate from established ways of thinking, and through art, I wanted to provoke a guiltfree discussion on a more responsible future for the fashion field.
The collection was launched during Helsinki Design Week in September 2019. All of the pictures taken by the borrowers built a virtual installation.
